Jenny Gonzales, Church Administrator

Jenny gave her life to the Lord in Oct of 1983. She was a single mom to 2 boys. She began to attend Hosanna Chapel and as soon as she was able, began teaching in Sunday School and serving wherever she could. After a few years, she also began working at a ministry called Released Time Education, a ministry that teaches the Bible to 4th and 5th graders in elementary school. She took care of the bookkeeping for the ministry and taught classes. The director of the ministry was also the assistant pastor at Hosanna Chapel. He was asked to also pastor a church in North Long Beach which became Calvary Chapel North Long Beach. She continued to work with Released Time but was also asked if she would like to be the receptionist and bookkeeper at the church, which she did.

In 1999, she married Pastor Dave Gonzales, who was a widower with a young son. He was the pastor at Calvary Chapel Cerritos which later became Calvary Chapel Artesia. She served alongside him teaching the women, working in the Sunday School and did the bookkeeping for the church. Pastor Dave passed away in May of 2016.

When Pastor Bob became the pastor, he first asked her if she was going to stay at the church. Calvary Chapel of Artesia was her family, so she stayed and is continuing to do the bookkeeping as well as office administration.

Jenny has 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandson as well as another on the way.

Her life verse is Philippians 1:6. “Being confident of this very thing, that He who begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
